Urban Planning Projects
The projects below are the deliverable documents from three studios during my studies in Urban Planning and Sustainable Development at Western Washington University.
Birchwood Redevelopment (2016)
This studio focused on a redevelopment proposal and masterplanning for the commercial core of Bellingham’s Birchwood neighborhood in conjunction with the City of Bellingham to foster a thriving, human-centered neighborhood plan.
Blueprint for a Sustainable Living Village (2014)
An ongoing publication under professor Nicholas Zaferatos about the village of Kioni on the island Ithaca in Greece, my studies involved a redesign of the village’s platia, helped to map historic windmills on the island and created a proposal for sustainable tourism via reestablishing olive oil production on the island with my classmates.
Sunnyland Urban Transitions (2015)
A joint document between three courses, my studio, Planning for Sustainable Communities, explored the application of green building methods at a neighborhood scale, environmental impact assessment, and the design and completion of a neighborhood redevelopment proposal using LEED ND strategies.
